  2. Elizabeth is talking to John. John Proctor was being tested on the ten commandments by Hale and out of all of them he forgets adultery. The one he commited, how conveniant. Literary element is dramatic irony.

  3. Goody Proctor said this to her husband, because he had to recite the ten commandments and he mentioned all of the commandments but the actual one he did, so the element would be Irony.

  4. Elizabeth Proctor is talking to her husband John Proctor. Mr. Hale comes to address why Elizabeth's name came up in court? And instead he is questing John Proctor on he's Christion faith by asking him to resight the commandments. John got all of them but one and Elizabeth had to help him with the one he didn't remember "adulter". The Literary Element is irony.

  7. Elizabeth Proctor says "adultery John" to him when he was asked by mr Hale to say the ten commandments and he is forgetting one. This is important in the play because he is trying to prove that he is a good man so that there wont be suspicions of his wife being a witch. The literary element is irony because he forgets that commandment that he committed. He cheated on his wife and so he committed adultery.

  11. Who?: Elizabeth Proctor
    To Who?: John Proctor
Significance: This quote is significant to the play because at this point John is listing off the ten commandments and has listed all but one. Thankfully, Elizabeth is able to help John but in an angrily tone tells him the final one.
    Literary Elements?: None.

  14. Elizabeth is talking to her Husband, John, in this quote. He is reciting the 10 commandments for Reverend Parris. He forgets this commandment and Elizabeth corrects him. John has commited adultery before with Abigail and this reminds us of his wrong-doing.

  15. Elizabeth Proctor is talking to her husband John Proctor. Mr. Hale is coming to the family's home to speak with them, but instead of talking with the whole family he is basically just questioning John on his religious beliefs. So he asks him to recite the ten commandments. John get's all of the commandments right but forgets about adultery which he has already committed with Abigail. Literary elements that I saw was Irony.
